FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

My name is Jacqui Jack and I  am the family support Worker at Blairmore Nursery School.  My role is to support parents, children and families in the nursery and wider community.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOU?

Home visits prior to children starting nursery if desired.

Supporting parents of children with additional support needs.

Counselling-personal difficulties or concerns about a family member.

Drug/alchohol dependency.

Difficulties in managing children's behaviour.

Accompanying parents to appointments e.g. doctor, hospital, social work meetings.

Help accessing appropriate support services.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

As well as offering individual support to families,  I can help access courses in a variety of subjects within the local community. Signposting and accompanying parents/carers to various services.

Adult literacy and numeracy classes.

Parenting classes

Play Sessions during school holidays

Managing children's behaviour.

Stress managment.

Self-esteem building

Computer/digital camera training

Literacy  project

Creches may be provided for some of the courses available.

FIRST STEPS DROP IN

A parent and toddlers is available every Monday morning from 9.30-11.30am and every Friday afternoon from 12.45-3pm.  A variety of activities is available every week.

All parents and carers are welcome

CONFIDENTIALITY

All conversations are confidential.  The only time information cannot be treated as confidential is if Child Protection issues are raised.

The service of the Family Suppor Worker are also available during school holiday periods.  If you would like to speak to me during these times,  please telephone the nursery and I will arrange to see you either at home or in the nursery.
